Spence and Dolci finish competition at Youth Olympic Games

Heading into today’s finals, both Spence and Dolci had seen the podium with Spence capturing the bronze medal on vault and Dolci securing the silver medal on rings.

In the final day of the artistic gymnastics competition, Spence competed in the floor and beam finals, finishing fifth and eighth respectively. Spence scored 12.400 on floor and 10.366 on beam.

“This past week has been such an incredible experience in so many ways,” said Spence. “Being able to compete as part of a mixed team was so much fun and competing with so many amazing athletes has been a great learning experience and I’m very proud of my results! This has been my last junior competition and now I’m moving up to senior. I’m looking forward to getting some new skills, a new floor routine, and trying to make the Pan Am Games team next summer.”

Dolci competed in the high bar final, finishing eighth overall with 11.300 points.

“This week I’ve had a competition full of emotions,” said Dolci. “I learned a lot of lessons and even won a medal on rings! After the Games, I’m going to get back to the gym and prepare for the Canada Games and work on bringing up my difficulty scores.”
