Jason Woodnick announced as Program Manager for Men’s Artistic Gymnastics

Jason has been coaching at the University of Calgary in a variety of positions since 2010 – first as the assistant coach for the competitive men’s program under current National Team Director for the MAG program – Tony Smith, then as the head coach from 2013 to the present. He is an NCCP Level 3 certified coach and has coached Canadian teams at three World Championships (2013-2015), the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and the 2015 Pan Am Games.

“Jason’s extensive coaching background with men’s artistic gymnastics in both Canada and the U.S., and his experience in program management, will make him an excellent addition to the GCG team, and we look forward to having him join us in July,” said Peter Nicol, President/CEO of Gymnastics Canada.

“I’m very excited and honoured to have the opportunity to help guide the Canadian men’s artistic program towards the future. I believe we have the talent and ability to be a top program in the world,” said Woodnick.

Woodnick will work together with all of our stakeholders in artistic gymnastics as we build towards success in Tokyo 2020 and beyond.
