SAFE SPORT REPORTING

REPORTING SUSPICIONS OF CHILD MALTREATMENT

IF A CHILD OR YOUTH IS IN IMMEDIATE DANGER OR RISK, CALL 911 OR YOUR LOCAL POLICE.

Contact your local authorities if you have a reasonable suspicion that a child or youth is a victim of any form of abuse or neglect. Reports of abuse or neglect not involving a minor may also be reported to local authorities.

REPORTING SUSPICIONS OF MISCONDUCT OR OTHER SERIOUS CONCERNS

Individuals across all disciplines of gymnastics in Canada have the right to participate in a sport environment free from abuse, harassment, and discrimination. If you are concerned about the welfare of a child, youth, or other participant, please report your concerns:

As of December 19, 2022 individuals have two avenues to report complaints or concerns regarding conduct; report directly to the Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner (OSIC) – Abuse Free Sport or report to Gymnastics Canada’s independent complaint management service.  OSIC/Abuse Free Sport will deal with complaints/concerns that meet the standards as set out in the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport (UCCMS).  All other complaints/concerns will continue to be dealt with through Gymnastics Canada’s independent complaint management mechanism.
