Amanda Tambakopoulos announced as Program Manager for Women’s Artistic Gymnastics

Tambakopoulos joins GCG with an exceptional background and over 15 years of involvement in sport as a manager, coach, judge, and volunteer, with a strong understanding of the Canadian sport system and gymnastics.  Most recently as the Director General at Unigym Gatineau, she was responsible for implementing and overseeing strategic planning and providing the operational framework for the four training centers across Gatineau. Unigym Gatineau is one of the largest and most successful gymnastics clubs in Canada, with over 6000 members annually as well as 125 employees. Unigym is active at the local, provincial, and national levels, and has hosted numerous events including the Artistic Gymnastics Canadian Championships in 2015.

“Amanda’s combined background and experience will make her an excellent addition to the GCG team, and we look forward to having her join us in November,” said Peter Nicol, President/CEO of Gymnastics Canada.

“I am excited and motivated to be joining GCG and look forward to contributing to the women’s artistic gymnastics program and being part of the team,” said Tambakopoulos.

Tambakopoulos will work together with all of our stakeholders in artistic gymnastics as we build towards success in Tokyo 2020 and beyond.
