Niki Lavoie announced as Program Manager for Trampoline Gymnastics

Lavoie has over 20 years of coaching experience, and was a national team advisor in power tumbling from 2005 to 2007, and a coach for Team Canada from 2005 to 2014. She has also worked with national teams in trampoline and tumbling and men’s artistic gymnastics for many years as a sport injuries and massage therapist. She attended the FIG Level 3 Academy in 2017, is NCCP Level 4 certified, and is currently registered with the Canadian Therapeutic College as a massage therapist.

“We’re thrilled to have someone with Niki’s strong background in trampoline and tumbling join our team at the national office in Ottawa. This is an exciting time for trampoline gymnastics in Canada as we build towards the Olympics Games in 2020 and the World Games in 2021,” said Peter Nicol, President/CEO of Gymnastics Canada.

“I’m very excited to be joining the Team at Gymnastics Canada! I hope to bring my experience as a coach, judge, and therapist to assist in my new role at GCG, and I’m looking forward to working with the members of the Technical Committee as well as the National Team Advisors to assist in the continued success of trampoline, tumbling, and double mini-trampoline in Canada,” said Lavoie.

Lavoie will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the TG program within the scope of the GCG strategic and operational plans. She will work and make decisions in consultation with the GCG High Performance Director, TG National Team Coaching Staff (NTCS), and the TG Program Committees and Assemblies.
