Martin Sanio announced as National Events Manager for Gymnastics Canada

“Martin brings to our organization a solid track record of event management and leadership,” said Ian Moss, CEO of Gymnastics Canada. “His experience and perspective will be a valuable addition to our team as we build a stronger position for the sport of gymnastics in the public eye and continue to build a higher value proposition for our members.”

“I am very excited to be joining Gymnastics Canada and working with the team,” said Sanio who is fluent in English, French, and German, and who has a Master of Human Kinetics degree with a concentration in sport management from the University of Ottawa. “Gymnastics Canada has a reputation for hosting world-class events, and I look forward to ensuring that the GymCan national events hosting strategy is effective and properly managed, and to contribute to the success of all events and competitions.”

Sanio joins GymCan with experience and knowledge gained from organizing the Laval soccer leagues and events where he was responsible for their day-to-day operations, as well as supervising referees, delegates, and volunteers during the soccer tournaments organized by the association. He was also the National Events Coordinator for Speed Skating Canada from 2015 to 2017 where he was primarily responsible for the management of their national domestic competitions.

In his new role, Sanio will be responsible for leading and executing the vision for GymCan’s national and international hosting strategy in order to best position the sport of gymnastics in the public eye while properly managing the technical outcomes of all events and competitions to the satisfaction of our various stakeholders.

Please join us in welcoming Martin to the team. He will be based out of Montreal, and can be reached by email at msanio@gymcan.org.
