Gymnastics returns to in-person national competitions for the 2022 Canadian National Championships

“Events such as competitions bring our sport community together – they are the celebration of all the hard work done to achieve personal and collective goals” said Ian Moss, CEO of Gymnastics Canada. “I want to acknowledge the determination of all our athletes, coaches and leaders in the sport over the past number of years in dealing with very difficult circumstances – coming back together at national, provincial and regional events in 2022 is a tonic towards the restoration of some normalcy in sport and life in general.”

Canadian Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics – Richmond, BC

The 2022 Canadian Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics will be hosted from May 19th to 23rd at the Richmond Oval, in British Columbia. The event is being hosted by the British Columbia Rhythmic Sportive Gymnastics Federation (BCRSGF).

Invitations for this year’s event are based on the All-Around results from the 2022 “virtual” Elite Canada competition as well as the Eastern and Western Regional Finals that took place through March and April. The Canadian Championships event will include the individual novice, junior, and senior categories, as well the group competition.

Canadian Championships in Artistic Gymnastics – Richmond, BC

The 2022 Canadian Championships in Men’s and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics will be hosted from May 26th to 30th at the Richmond Oval, in British Columbia. This event is being hosted by Gymnastics Canada. GymCan is proud to be hosting this event, and invites interested individuals to register to volunteer for the event here.

Invitations for this year’s event are based on the All-Around results from the 2022 “virtual” Elite Canada competition in women’s artistic gymnastics as well as the technical trial in men’s artistic gymnastics that took place through March and April. The competition format will include a team, apparatus, and the individual all-around competitions.

Canadian Championships in Trampoline Gymnastics – Calgary, AB

The 2022 Canadian Championships in Trampoline Gymnastics will be hosted from July 21st to 24th at the Genesis Centre, in Calgary, Alberta. This event is being hosted by the Alberta Gymnastics Federation.

The event directives for the 2022 Canadian Championships in trampoline gymnastics will be released in the coming weeks, where more information will be available about the event format and eligibility.
