Tatiana Cocsanova qualifies for finals in the 2022 Sofia FIG World Cup in Rhythmic Gymnastics

Tatiana Cocsanova (Questo RG, QC) competed in the 2022 Sofia FIG World Cup, the second competition of the 2022 World Cup series in rhythmic gymnastics. Cocsanova finished 17th All-Around with a total score of 104.450.

“Since this was my first World Cup, I was very excited but scared.  The feels were very different from any other competition I have been to.  It was a World Cup and the best of the best were there.  To participate at such an event and being amongst the top athletes of the world was truly a huge honour.  When I managed to get into finals with my clubs routine, I was stunned.  It meant that I’m in the top 8 gymnasts of the world…what? It demonstrates that hard work does pay off.  However, in finals I felt the nerves got the best of me.  I was so eager to do my best, that I think I overdid it a little and dropped on an element that I never miss. Although disappointed I have learned from this and will keep going forward.  The competition gave me a motivational boost.  I cannot wait to go back on the world stage and perform even better!”

Following a strong qualifying performance, Cocsanova competed in the club’s apparatus final. She finished 8th with a total score of 25.950.

“This was Tatiana’s first time competing at a World Cup.  The goal was to perform memorable routines and Tatiana followed through.  To participate in the club finals and to hear very positive feedback from the judges and world-class coaches was very honorable,” shared Cocsanova’s coach Natalia Popova. “Thank you to GymCan and everyone who was involved in supporting Tatiana’s preparation.  Together we will continue to work and improve our technical skills. “GOOD, BETTER. BEST!” This is our motto for the upcoming competitions.”

Tatiana is now in her final preparation for the Canadian Championships with competition starting Saturday May 21, in Richmond, BC. The 2022 Canadian Championships will be live streamed here.
