Canadian team named for 2022 Trampoline, Tumbling, and DMT World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria

Canada will have 17 gymnasts travelling to compete in the 2022 Trampoline, Tumbling, and DMT Gymnastics World Championships. The competition will be hosted in Sofia, Bulgaria at the Arena Ameec from November 16-19, 2022.

On Saturday, November 19 the Individual Finals for Trampoline and Synchronized Trampoline, as well as the All-Around Team Final will be streamed on CBC Sports.

The delegation for the 2022 Trampoline, Tumbling, and DMT Gymnastics World Championships consists of the following members:

The competition schedule for the 2022 Trampoline, Tumbling, and DMT Gymnastics World Championships is as follows:

  • Wednesday, November 16 – Qualifications (TRA, DMT, and TUM – Women)
  • Thursday, November 17 – Qualifications (SYN, TUM – Men), Team Final (DMT, TUM)
  • Friday, November 18 – Qualifications (TRA, TUM, DMT – Women), Team Final (TRA), Individual Final (DMT, TUM)
  • Saturday, November 19 – Individual Final (TRA, SYN), All-Around Team Final

Ahead of the 2022 Trampoline, Tumbling, and DMT World Championships Keegan Soehn (Thunder Country, AB) and Nathan Shuh (Skyriders Trampoline, ON) captured the silver medal in the Synchronized Trampoline event at the 2022 Pan American Championships, where Soehn also captured the silver medal in Individual Trampoline event. Gabby Flynn (Shasta Trampoline, BC) came home with a gold medal in DMT from the 4th AERE Trampoline World Cup in Italy. At the Combria World Cup in Portugal, Sophiane Méthot (Virtuose, QC), Jérémy Chartier (Virtuose, QC), Rémi Aubin (Dynamix, QC), and Gavin Dodd (KGTC, BC) all landed on the podium. Taylor Pillinger (VIP Gymsports, BC) and Justin Thompson (Qunite Bay Gymnastics, ON) also travelled to Birmingham, USA to compete in the 2022 World Games.

Following the 2022 Trampoline, Tumbling, and DMT World Championships, Gymnastics Canada will participate in the 2022 Trampoline, Tumbling, and DMT World Age Group Competitions from November 23-26 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
