Woo and Cournoyer compete in artistic gymnastics Swiss Cup

The Swiss Cup includes 10 national teams made up of one male gymnast and one female gymnast. Each gymnast selects which apparatus they would like to compete on and their score is combined with their teammate’s to obtain the overall total. All ten teams compete on two apparatuses in the preliminary round, where only the top six teams advance to the semi-finals.

Woo and Cournoyer both chose to compete on floor in the first round of competition scoring 13.700 and 13.800 respectively, putting them in sixth place heading into the second and determining round.

In the second round, Woo competed on the uneven bars but struggled through her routine finishing with a score of 12.350. Cournoyer’s strong routine on the rings scored him 14.100 points, but ultimately it wasn’t enough to advance to the semi-finals. The Canadian duo finished in tenth place overall with a combined score of 53.950.
