Ellie Black wins gold in women’s all-around at Pan Am Games; Onyshko 6th, Smith 7th, Cournoyer 11th
Ellie Black brought the Toronto Coliseum crowd to its feet last night at the Pan American Games, taking home gold for Canada in the women’s all-around competition – Canada’s first gold in all-around since the 1979 Pan American Games! Isabela Onyshko (MB) also had a solid night, finishing 6th overall. Hugh Smith (NS) and René Cournoyer (QC) finished 7th and 11th respectively in the men’s all-around competition earlier in the evening.

The first day of apparatus finals has ended, and Ellie Black (NS) completed her medal trifecta, winning bronze on the vault with a total score of 14.087! Maegan Chant (ON) tied for fourth with a total of 14.062, while Cuban Marcia Videaux Jimenez took gold with a total of 14.737.
Women’s Artistic Team Wins Silver!
Ellie Black, Maegan Chant, Madison Copiak, Isabela Onyshko, and Victoria-Kayen Woo captured the silver medal behind the United States last night at the Pan American Games with a total score of 166.500.
