Full 2016 Domestic Events Calendar Announced

ARTISTIC

ELITE CANADA – HALIFAX – FEBRUARY 4-7
Halifax, Nova Scotia will play host to the first event of the season – the Elite Canada competition which will be held from February 4th to 7th at the Canada Games Centre. Elite Canada is one of the primary meets at which national team status is determined and brings together the top athletes from across Canada from the novice, junior, and senior categories. The competition will be hosted by Gymnastics Nova Scotia, Halifax Alta Gymnastics Club, Taiso Gymnastics Training Centre, and Titan’s Gymnastics and Trampoline Club.

CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS – EDMONTON – MAY 31-JUNE 4
Close to 1,000 athletes, coaches, and officials from across the country will challenge for titles in age groups ranging from novice to senior in both artistic and trampoline gymnastics. The championships will be hosted by Capital City Gymnastics Centre and will take place at the University of Alberta’s Butterdome.

RHYTHMIC

ELITE CANADA – RICHMOND, BC – FEBRUARY 11-14
Hosted by the British Columbia Rhythmic Sportive Gymnastic Federation at the Richmond Olympic Oval, this competition will declare junior and senior champions in individual and group categories. It will also help to identify the 15 high performance athletes that will qualify for direct entry to the Canadian Championships for the junior and senior age categories.

CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS – WINNIPEG – MAY 18-22
Over 150 athletes from the novice, junior, and senior categories will compete for the title of Canadian champion in group and individual events at this competition hosted by Rhythmic Gymnastics Manitoba at the Duckworth Centre at the University of Winnipeg.

TRAMPOLINE

CANADA CUP – KAMLOOPS, BC – MARCH 17-20
The first domestic trials for selection to the 2016 Olympic Team, this event will also see over 150 athletes from the novice to senior age groups competing in all four events: individual trampoline, synchronized trampoline, double-mini trampoline, and tumbling. Hosted by Gymnastics BC and Kamloops Gymnastics and Trampoline Centre, the competition will be held at the Tournament Capital Centre.

CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS – EDMONTON – MAY 31-JUNE 4
Combined with artistic gymnastics, this event will see close to 1,000 athletes, coaches, and officials from across the country challenge for titles in age groups ranging from novice to senior in individual trampoline, synchronized trampoline, double-mini trampoline, and tumbling. The championships will be hosted by Capital City Gymnastics Centre and will take place at the University of Alberta’s Butterdome.
