Canadian team announced for 2015 Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships

“I’m confident that we have all the current elements in our team to qualify two women for the Olympics in trampoline for the 4th time in a row and we are hoping to qualify one man at these championships without having to wait until the Test Event in April to do so,” said Stephan Duchesne, High Performance Director for Trampoline Gymnastics. “We also have very strong medal chances with our teams in women’s trampoline and women’s and men’s double mini-trampoline. Qualifying for the World Games in tumbling, double mini-trampoline and synchronized trampoline will be a real thrill for these athletes as it’s their equivalent to the Olympic Games.”

Olympic qualification process: The top eight men and top eight women in trampoline will secure a berth for their country at the Olympic Games with a maximum of two per country. Those athletes ranked 9th to 24th at these Championships will advance to the Olympic test event in Rio de Janeiro in April. The top five men and five women at that event will advance to the Olympics, with any remaining spots being allocated after the conclusion of the Test Event.
