Canadian Provincial Pathway

The competitor’s age will be based on his age as of September 1st of the competition season (defined as September 1 to August 31).

The Provincial Pathway has been developed to provide a competitive stream for athletes of all levels, but who may not be striving toward the Elite level. The early levels feature compulsory routines that are similar in structure to the Elite Pathway routines with some simplifications. Some athletes may start along this pathway and move laterally into the Elite Pathway at a later stage in their development. The optional routines are a modification of the FIG Junior rules. Therefore, all FIG Junior rules apply including the restricted elements, repetition, maximum four counting skills per Element Group, time on floor, three parts of the pommel horse, etc. Modifications to the FIG Junior rules include: a reduction in the number of Element Groups required, and the difficulty requirement of the dismount has been reduced.
