Uchida & Vivier dominate qualifiers at Elite Canada Rhythmic
CALGARY, AB (February 16, 2019) – Katherine Uchida of Toronto, ON leads the senior field after the first two days of competition at the 2019 Elite Canada in Rhythmic Gymnastics competition at the Genesis Centre in Calgary, AB, while Michel Vivier, also of Toronto, leads the junior competition.

OTTAWA, ON (February 13, 2019) — Gymnastics Canada acknowledges the decision by Justice Deborah Austin today regarding Mr. Dave Brubaker. In light of this verdict, an internal investigation on this matter will now proceed. This investigation will be conducted by Gymnastics Canada in accordance with our Code of Ethics and Conduct and Discipline policies.

GATINEAU, QC (February 2, 2019) – Alicia Wendland from Revolution Gymnastics in Waterloo, ON made her Canadian debut on Saturday night at the Elite Canada competition in women’s artistic gymnastics at the Centre sportif de Gatineau in Gatineau, QC and came away with the novice all-around title. Emma Trollip from Burlington Gymnastics took silver while Victoriane Charron from Gym-Richelieu grabbed the bronze.
Padurariu claims first senior all-around title at Elite Canada competition in Gatineau
GATINEAU, QC (February 1, 2019) – Ana Padurariu of Whitby, ON captured her first senior all-around title at the Elite Canada competition in women’s artistic gymnastics on Friday night in Gatineau, QC, beating out her 2018 World Championships teammate and 2017 World all-around silver medallist Ellie Black of Halifax who took silver. Zoé Allaire-Bourgie of Montreal rounded out the podium with bronze.
Gymnastics coaches suspended pending internal investigation of policy violations
OTTAWA, ON (January 31, 2019) – Last week, Gymnastics Canada received written formal complaints against two elite level coaches that outlined alleged violations of the organization’s Ethics and Code of Conduct policies over an extended period of time. On Monday, January 28th, Ms. Valerie Oudin and Ms. Sara Stafford from Champions Gymnastics Club in Edmonton, AB were provisionally suspended by Gymnastics Canada. On Wednesday, January 30th, the Alberta Gymnastics Federation implemented a reciprocal temporary suspension of Ms. Oudin and Ms. Stafford.
Gymnastics coach suspended pending internal investigation of policy violations
OTTAWA, ON (January 21, 2019) – Gymnastics Canada has received a number of written formal complaints against a national level coach that outlined alleged violations of Gymnastics Canada’s Ethics and Code of Conduct policies over an extended period of time a number of years ago. On Friday, January 18th, Mrs. Elizabeth Brubaker (Bluewater Gymnastics Club – Sarnia, ON) was provisionally suspended by Gymnastics Canada, Gymnastics Ontario, and the Bluewater Gymnastics Club.
