Black narrowly misses gold at Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Tokyo
TOKYO, JPN (April 7, 2019) – The battle between Ellie Black of Halifax, NS and Morgan Hurd of the USA continued on Sunday at the 2019 Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Tokyo, JPN as the two athletes, who shared the podium at the 2017 World Championships where Black took silver and Hurd gold, once again fought for the top of the podium. Despite Black laying down four solid routines, it was Hurd who once again took the gold and Black the silver. Asuko Teramoto of Japan took the bronze.
Strong results for Uchida & Crane at 2019 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Pesaro
PESARO, ITA (April 7, 2019) – Katherine Uchida and Sophie Crane, both of Toronto, had a strong start to their 2019 World Cup campaign this weekend, finishing 27th, and 51st respectively overall at the season-opening World Cup in Pesaro, ITA. Russian twins Dina and Arina Averina took gold and silver respectively, while Boryana Kaleyn of Bulgaria took bronze.
Meet our Champions – Shallon Olsen
At only 16 years old, Shallon Olsen represented Canada at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games as the youngest member of the entire Canadian Olympic team, where she advanced to the vault finals, finishing 8th overall. Almost unstoppable on vault, Shallon has been undefeated domestically on that apparatus since becoming a senior in 2016. After winning three medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games (Gold in team and vault, bronze on floor), Shallon went on to win a silver medal on vault at the 2018 World Championships.
In the fall of 2018, Shallon joined the Alabama Crimson Tide women’s gymnastics team and made her NCAA debut on January 5, 2019 – winning the vault title in a quad meet against Southeast Missouri, Temple and Northern Illinois.

Victoria Woo finishes fifth at 2019 Birmingham Gymnastics World Cup
BIRMINGHAM, UK (March 23, 2019) – Victoria Kayen Woo of Brossard, QC laid down four solid performances at the 2019 Birmingham Gymnastics World Cup on Saturday to finish the day fifth overall. Aliya Mustafina of Russia won gold, Riley McCusker of the USA took silver, and Thais Fidelis of Brazil captured bronze.
Meet our Champions – Félix Dolci
At only 16-years-old, Félix Dolci has already accomplished much as gymnast. He participated in his first competition in 2009 and since then, has earned an impressive collection of more than 200 medals, several trophies, as well as several honours and sport merits. At the 2018 Youth Olympic Games, Félix qualified for the all-around, and all event finals, finishing the competition with a silver medal on rings. He recently became the most decorated athlete in Canada Winter Games history with 11 medals won over two Games.
Pellerin just misses finals at World Cup Doha
Thierry Pellerin of Lévis, QC laid down an impressive pommel horse routine today at a World Cup competition in Doha, QAT with a score of 14.433, but it was unfortunately not enough to advance to the finals on Saturday. He finished the day in 11th overall.
Ana Padurariu captures silver at 2019 Stuttgart Gymnastics World Cup
STUTTGART, GER (March 17, 2019) – Ana Padurariu of Whitby, ON showcased her potential to the world on Sunday morning, capturing the silver medal in the 2019 Stuttgart All-Around Gymnastics World Cup behind Simone Biles of the USA. Elizabeth Seitz of Germany took the bronze.
